Affiliate disclosure · Updated August 25, 2026

When FBF can earn from a link, the relationship should be clear.

FBF may receive compensation from an approved partner when a visitor uses a disclosed monetized link and completes a qualifying action. Editorial coverage does not require a commercial relationship.

Affiliate links

A qualifying referral may create a commission.

When FBF has an approved affiliate relationship, a monetized outbound action should include a nearby disclosure so a user does not need to hunt through a Terms page to understand the material connection.

Normal editorial coverage

A review does not mean a platform pays FBF.

FBF can review, compare or criticize a dating platform without an affiliate relationship. At launch, a platform is not presented as an approved affiliate partner unless that relationship has actually been approved and activated.

Sponsored placement

Sponsored means sponsored.

If sponsored placements are introduced later, they must be labeled. A sponsor cannot purchase an Excellent Fit, Strong Fit or Good Fit label or remove a limitation that matters to the user.

Public ranking

Affiliate payout has zero weight in public Fit Score.

The public recommendation model uses user-fit and editorial factors. Commercial forecasting is tracked separately and cannot secretly rewrite the recommendation order.

How to recognize commercial context

Disclosure should appear where it changes how you interpret an action.

Near the outbound action

A monetized link should not rely only on a distant general disclosure page.

Clear sponsorship labels

Paid placement should use ordinary language such as Sponsored, not a vague visual treatment.

Separate methodology

Editorial methodology explains why a platform fits. This page explains the commercial relationship. They should not be confused.

Does commission raise a dating app's Fit Score?

No. Affiliate payout is assigned zero weight in the public Fit Score.

Can FBF cover a platform without getting paid?

Yes. Editorial coverage and commercial relationships are separate.

Can sponsored content appear later?

Potentially, but sponsorship must be labeled and cannot buy an editorial fit label.
